Moving a layer in Photoshop

1. Select the move tool (keyboard shortcut – type v for Mac and PC).
2. Select the layer(s) in the Layers palette that you want to move.
3. Click and drag to move the layers.

You can move a portion of a layer.

1. Create a selection (for example, use the marquee tool to make a selection).
2. Select the move tool.
3. Click inside the selection and drag to move just the selected area.
